SCRIPPS RANCH is one of the major communities on the southern part of the I-15 Corridor and is located East of I-15 and the Marine Corps Station Miramar(MCASM) and South of Poway. Originally a working ranch owned by newspaper publisher E.W. Scripps, today it is the home of about 33,000 residents.
Nestled among many mature eucalyptus trees and landscaping, it is diverse in age with 27% under 18 years of age and the median age of 39.5. Within the San Diego Unified School District, it supports four elementary schools, Thurgood Marshall Middle and Scripps Ranch High School. In addition it is the home of Alliant International University as well as a number of smaller private schools. A well located bedroom community within the City of San Diego, it also includes Miramar Reservoir which is available for fishing, boating, bike riding, walking and picnicking.
North of Scripps Ranch along the I-15 corridor you will find Poway with its large lots and pastoral charm, Rancho Penasquitos perched just east of Carmel Valley and Rancho Bernardo, spanning both sides of the I-15 located east of Rancho Santa Fe. There is something for everyone along the I-15.
